Kellie Walsh, a native of Newfoundland and Labrador, is a distinguished figure in the international choral community. She serves as artistic director of Shallaway Youth Choir, an internationally celebrated organization dedicated to building community, empathy, and leadership through choral experiences. Under her leadership, Shallaway’s senior ensemble won first place at the prestigious Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod (Wales), earning the highest mark overall for children’s and youth choirs.
Kellie is also founder and artistic director of award-winning Lady Cove Women’s Choir. With a robust commissioning mandate rooted in the culture of Newfoundland and Labrador, Lady Cove maintains an active bursary program for young musicians. Notably, Lady Cove has won first place in the Béla Bartók Contemporary Choir Competition (Hungary) and was invited to the 9th World Symposium on Choral Music (Argentina). Most recently, Kellie co-founded Inuit Youth Choir Ullûgiagatsuk (Nunatsiavut, Labrador). She is Past-President of Choral Canada, further highlighting her leadership in the national choral scene. Kellie is an active guest conductor, speaker, and collaborator, using choral music to unite people and cultures, transcending geographical and societal boundaries.
