EXCITING NEWS:
Clinicians are available virtually to support you!

Ontario Vocal Festival is partnering with clinicians who have worked with groups at OVF over the past few years to bring opportunities to you!

If you are looking to hire a guest virtual clinician, lecturer or performer for your class or choir, this list of clinicians, with their email contacts, may be useful to you. If any of these wonderful musicians and educators can add to your programming please contact them directly to make the necessary arrangements.

We wish you all well as we continue to make music through these challenging times.

Update for the 2020 - 2021 School Year

Dear Choral Educator,

As we try to navigate through a time of uncertainty with more questions than answers, the Ontario Vocal Festival would like to support you and the choral community as we have done for the last three decades. We are very aware that we are a long way from being able to deliver our festival as we have in the past.  As such, there will be no traditional Ontario Vocal Festival during the 2020 - 2021 school year.  We understand that our classrooms are not going to look the same when we go back and what may have been routine will likely have to be reimagined.  Now, more than ever, we must continue to find support from each other and find creative solutions to this ever-changing situation. We would like to help you continue delivering the excellent choral pedagogy that you strive for and that our students have come to expect.

The Ontario Vocal Festival is committed to supporting you by coordinating a vocal/choral resource bank so that we can continue to work together and learn from each other while we are apart. Our Board members have created a google drive to assist you with curriculum development, give a forum to share best practices and connect you with other educators and clinicians. It is our hope that you are willing to contribute to this endeavour so that we can co-create an excellent resource to be used now and in the future. Our intention is that we can help streamline the onslaught of information we are all receiving so that you can always look to the Ontario Vocal Festival for new ideas for your vocal/choral classrooms.

We all know the benefits of vocal music in our daily lives and the lives of our students.  Please help us work to ensure that music does not get pushed aside at this time.  If there is anything else you need from our organization, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

On behalf of the Ontario Vocal Festival Board of Directors, we wish you all the best in the fall.

Sincerely,

Megan Collings

"Thank you again for organizing and running this AMAZING festival! Honestly, I spend so much money in festival fees for bands, jazz band and choir, that I never feel satisfied when we leave the clinics. But the OVF festival is so awesome and well worth every penny! Please congratulate your students and volunteers on another wonderful year. I know it takes a lot of people to make this happen, but it's your vision that brings it all together in the end. The clinicians were all fabulous!" - Secondary Department Head of Fine Arts/Music Teacher
